FlashStart has launched FlashStart 2026, a redesigned DNS security platform for enterprises, public-sector organisations, managed service providers, internet service providers, cloud service providers, SOCs, and systems integrators.
The Milan-based company says the platform combines DNS-layer malware protection, content filtering, AI-supported investigations, API integration, and cloud scalability. It assesses multiple indicators before a connection is established, including domains, hosting server IP addresses, geolocation, and other server attributes, with the aim of blocking malicious websites, internet applications, and links before users reach them.
FlashStart says the platform is used by 32 million people globally, processes more than 35 billion web requests per day, and verifies approximately 200,000 new websites daily. The 2026 release introduces a redesigned control panel, new APIs, a modernised microservices architecture, stronger whitelist and blacklist management, richer reporting, deeper DNS traffic analysis, and improved administration for users, permissions, and multiple customer environments.
The company’s platform page describes FlashStart 2026 as a full redesign for MSPs, ISPs, and IT teams managing distributed environments. It lists shared policies across multiple customers, multi-administrator management with access levels and two-factor authentication, enhanced network management, a redesigned user experience, and API availability for integrations and automation.

DNS-layer protection does not replace endpoint, email, browser, identity, or network controls. Its value sits in blocking connections before users and devices reach malicious infrastructure. Used with other controls, DNS filtering can reduce exposure to phishing pages, malware delivery sites, suspicious command-and-control domains, and content categories that breach policy or regulatory requirements.
The service-provider design is central to the launch. MSPs, ISPs, and SOC providers need controls that can be deployed across many environments without creating high administration overhead. Shared policies, delegated administration, integrations, and reporting can influence whether DNS security can be operated consistently at scale.
FlashStart is also emphasising data sovereignty and performance through national points of presence. The company says it has up to 20 PoPs in Europe, including UK datacentre instances in Manchester and London, and that the platform incorporates the UK CTIRU Metropolitan Police blacklist of terrorist content.
Browsing telemetry requires careful handling. DNS logs can reveal which services users and devices attempt to reach, when those requests occur, and which networks generate them. Public-sector, education, healthcare, telecoms, and regulated-sector customers will need to understand where telemetry is processed, how long it is retained, and who can access it.
FlashStart 2026 extends a control point that sits close to user behaviour, malware prevention, managed security delivery, and data governance. The strength of deployment will depend on policy design, integration quality, telemetry protection, and the speed with which malicious infrastructure is identified and blocked.
